Trussardi Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Gaia Trussardi’s FW17 collection was rooted in pragmatism. Clothes you could wear in the real world while still looking chic. With this goal in mind, she succeeded. The pieces, though created with the Milanese woman in mind, felt appropriate for any city. The leather jackets — the label’s specialty — were beautifully crafted and had the touch of urban sensibility. Other stand-outs were the pinstriped tailored suits that appeared towards the end. We couldn’t help but fall in love with the tapered trousers and boxy jacket — a daring silhouette that’s hard to pull off, but somehow worked. While not entirely ground-breaking, the looks were well executed and actually had us looking forward to the season of golden leaves and lightweight outerwear. If only to slip on the suede trench coat that came swishing down the runway.
