Salvatore Ferragamo

Salvatore Ferragamo Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Fulvio Rigoni opened up the Salvatore Ferragamo FW17 show with very simple dresses done up in washed-out neutrals, setting the tone for a pared-back collection. There was some use of animal prints, however they were understated and didn’t provide the visual stimulation that prints usually give. The silhouette was kept minimal yet figure-forgiving. Think shifts, slips and classic tailoring, Leather pieces served to showcase the label’s specialty, while puffer jackets slipped in to give otherwise bland looks a little extra something. The most eye-catching piece, was a longline coat in midnight-blue with an oversized fur collar. However, we must admit for the most part there was a lot to be desired in this collection. But this was only Rigoni’s second collection at Ferragamo. Developing a style that’s technically and aesthetically pleasing takes time. And we are a patient bunch.
