Balmain

Spring-Summer 2015 – Framing could be a key word for the S/S15 by Balmain. Geometrical motifs represent the fil rouge of the collection, framing the garments into squares and lines.

Jackets, capes and double skirts are beautifully made in order to create a sense of architectural construction, obtained by multiple layers of clothes (for instance transparent trousers showing another shorts underneath).

Deconstruction is also a key feature: the tops are divided into different stripes of fabric, revealing the skin and producing effective games of repetition and unusual shapes.

The colour palette is still simple, but based on the very foundations of the Theory of Colours: black, white and all the three primary colours (cyan, magenta and yellow).
