Vivienne Westwood

Autumn-Winter 2014/15 – No fashion week would be complete without the ultimate eccentric Queen herself, Vivienne Westwood.

It is clear from the start that we have been blasted into the future, as if from a scene from Star Trek. Sci-Fi meets Geek. Taking the basics of leather and plain black trousers, Vivienne has added many patterns into her cocktail of eccentricity and created a whole new illusion.

Although some of the prints used are ones that we have seen before, the colours and re-structured tailoring create a whole new image within itself. The balance between sportswear, casual and formal is an overload of possibilities.

The models themselves have slicked back hair as if the appearance of a doll, thus reinforcing the sci-fi edge. Viv has never been one to do fashion by halves and with a collection like this everything is doubled.. even tripled.
