Kenzo Women Spring Summer 2016

Carol Lim and Humberto Leon are known for their cool, youthful, and cheeky approach to fashion, and their SS16 collection for Kenzo epitomises this.  Tribal prints and patterns adorn some of the pieces, while graphic prints consisting of black jagged lines on top of clashing colours (yellow and blue shouldn’t work, but it does) give a sense of art deco style to their pieces.

Perhaps the most eccentric and fun part of the collection was within the sandals:  Patent leather (in black or white), thigh high, and with diamond cut outs on the shins, and blocked on the thigh.  These were worn with suit jacket tops and dresses, cinched in at the waist with a belt comprising of 3 miniature purses in different shapes. The Kenzo girls wore burnt orange lipstick and blusher, with shaggily cut hair falling into their faces.  The extravagant jewels and shapes of the necklaces and chandelier earrings were over-the-top, but super fun, while mustard yellow (a recurring theme of Paris Fashion Week SS16!) was the colour of choice for these and the designs.
