Dries Van Noten

Dries Van Noten Man Autumn-Winter 2016-17 – Dries Van Noten revealed his collection at the Opera Garnier stage in Paris. The show was set at an historical location giving a performance that was beautifully orchestrated and executed with the iconic hand embroidery, military silhouette and a touch of oriental culture.

The collection displayed whimsical prints, crackle effects, velvet pants and peacock cre string on the velvet teddy jacket, huge fur coat, parkas with Fillmore rock posters at the back and khaki military uniforms which were refurbished.

Dries Van Noten presents another breath taking collection with so much history behind the designs; with military coats and extravagantly patterned dressing gowns, opulent fur collars and soft knee pants covered with embroidered crests. It is obvious that the collection is in honour of the militants as the embroidery on the jackets signifies accomplishment.

Not only was the collection extraordinary, the location created a symbolic atmosphere as the models paraded down in a cluster and the designer purposely placed his audience on the stage of Opera Garnier.

The designs also featured a series of long coats with fur collars. All models wear brown looking smart shoes with white laces.
