Antonio Marras

Antonio Marras Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Antonio Marras’ FW17 runway show was full of movement and life — he enlisted the help from dancers of Milan’s Teatro della Danza — as was the collection itself. Marras use all sorts of fabrics  (we’re talking brocade, tweed, herringbone, plaid, lace) and melded them together into eccentric pieces for both women and men. Skillfully constructed, the looks were bold and playful yet had a dark allure about them. We appreciated how the use of layering contributed to give each look dimension. We especially loved a panelled, oversized jacket we saw in look 79. Slipped over a floral dress, it had just the right touch of luxe and quirk. Overall, we found the collection to be dynamic and one that didn’t just seek attention but demanded it.
