PFW: chic draping and flowing fabrics at Hermès

Posted on

The line is the brand’s last by Lemaire, who recently announced he will leave his position as creative director to focus on his eponymous label.

So the collection is a farewell, and a particularly sweet one. The color scheme is subdued for the most part, with plenty of ivory and beige. But there are also bolder tones of ochre, black and even some red. Solids dominate, but the line’s few prints are geometric and colorful.

Fluid lines and drapes abound in the collection. Whether in a coat, a draped dress or a pleated skirt, the fabrics slip and flow freely around the Hermès woman’s silhouette.

Walking atop platform sandals or loafers on the sand-covered runway, the models wore their hair down and had minimal makeup on, proving once again that next spring will be all about simplicity.
