Petit Bateau and Cédric Charlier reveal their fresh take on stripes

Posted on

Set to arrive in port at the end of the year, the famous Petit Bateau naval stripes have been reworked by Charlier to eye-catching effect, with a mix of printed effects in red, white and blue. The contemporary pieces for men, women and girls come in soft, supple fabrics and shapes, and the collection has been shot on dancers by photographer Alfredo Piola.

The Belgian-born designer, currently based in Paris, worked at Lanvin and Cacharel before launching his namesake line in February 2012. Petit Bateau has previously teamed up with famed French designer Christian Lacroix, as well as last year’s Hyères festival winner, emerging Finnish talent Satu Maaranen.

The prices will range from €50 up to €170 and the collection will be on sale from December 6 at concept stores in Paris (The Broken Arm), Milan (Ten Corso Como) and Brussels (Hunting and Collecting). Then from December 13, you’ll be able to get the pieces in Petit Bateau stores and online.
