Fashion films of the week: Saint Laurent, Dior Homme, Givenchy

Saint Laurent

Hedi Slimane knows how to stage a spectacle! This video of his latest Saint Laurent menswear show, held at the Carreau du Temple in Paris, features “Bright Blue Day Haze,” music especially composed and performed by Los Angeles rock ‘n’ roll band Mystic Braves for the occasion. It’s the perfect backdrop for Slimane’s retro-military-festival (and extremely skinny) pieces, with a stunning light show to boot.

Dior Homme

Dior Homme’s “Notes of a day” by photographer Willy Vanderperre ably shows off different elements of the French brand’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection including lush fur coats and polka dot brogues. Four silent male models take center stage with a brooding soundtrack by Perc.

Givenchy

The models at Riccardo Tisci’s Spring-Summer 2015 show for Givenchy walked in a circle around a suspended, exploded airplane. Dutch artist Paul Veroude was behind the spectacle (he’s done similar work with Michael Schumacher’s 2010 Mercedes GP Petronas F1 car), and the setup is captured in this time-lapse film from behind-the-scenes.
