Chantal Thomass creates tennis-inspired designs for French Open

Tennis has clearly influenced the fashion world, particularly since the days of René Lacoste, whose famous shirts are worn on and off the courts worldwide today. Now fashion designer Chantal Thomass is turning the tables, bringing a little of the fashion world to one of the world’s most prestigious tennis tournaments.

The “Chantal Thomass pour Roland-Garros” capsule collection bears all the hallmarks of the famous designer’s ultra-feminine style, including her signature pink, black and white color scheme. The pieces are also in line with the traditional styles seen on the tennis courts: the collection includes polo shirts and polo dresses, including some with feminine ribbon neckties, and pleated skirts.

There are also several pieces meant to be worn off the court, and specifically in the stands at the Roland-Garros stadium. Fashionistas can pick up a printed scarf, a very chic and feminine umbrella, a wide-brimmed hat to shade their faces from the midday sun, or a simple tunic to be worn over leggings.

The collection will go on sale exclusively at Roland-Garros stores.
