Kim Alexis

Born: Lockport, U.S., 1960

Kim Alexis was born in 1960 in New York as is counted as one of the first ever supermodels.

Kim was one of the great models of the 80’s, she worked alongside other iconic models such as Gia Carangi, Carol Alt, Christie Brinkley and Paulina Porizkoa.

Kim began modelling when she was discovered by Elite Talent Agency at the age of 18. Kim’s career grew rapidly as she was catapulted to fame in the fashion industry. Kim was featured on the cover of more than 500 magazines, including six appearances in the much-coveted Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues.

In 1983 she replaced Lauren Hutton as the face of Revlon’s premium line, Ultima 11, leading to worldwide recognition.

As well as a highly successful career as a model Kim also worked as an actress, she hosted a series of health shows in the early 90s. Kim is a marathon runner and so health is an area of personal interest for her. In 1998 she also appeared in the movie ‘Holy Man’ alongside Eddie Murphy. Kim also featured in the last ever episode of Cheers ‘One for the Road’.

Kim also dabbled in broadcast journalism, working as a fashion correspondent for Good Morning America.

Recently Kim has hosted the TV series ‘She’s got the look’ where a second chance at a modelling career for woman of 35 or over is given.

Kim is married to formed NHL hockey player, Ron Duguary, together they have five children.
