Philipp Plein Women Spring Summer 2016

A mechanical runway sided by robotic arms set the stage for this spring/summer collection, giving the audience a greater feel for the fierce and futuristic style Philipp Plein would preset. Leather and distressed denim met tulle, satin, and carefully woven lace in a combination of rockstar worthy pieces.

A revealing silver gown with open sides and thigh-high slits opened the collection, accessorized by studded platform sandals and a matching handbag. A studded white leather jacket followed next over a short silver dress. Skinny pants in leather and distressed denim topped by embellished blazers and motorcycle jackets alternated with short ballerina skirts and long, jeweled gowns. Tulle, satin and even feather added frill to several looks in the shape of ballerina skirts, though paired with studded gladiator platforms and leather left them feeling anything but girly. Black, white and silver were the common colors for this collection, though a red leather jacket and two looks patterned with red roses and razor wire did come down the line.

Layered silver jewelry and aviator glasses accessorized most looks. Studded gladiator platforms and ankle-height, embellished black motorcycle booties were the footwear throughout, reflecting the styles of the leather handbags carried by several models.

The final look gave an intense finish to the collection: a hairless model in a chaotically sequined black cocktail dress with a layered skirt under a studded leather jacket.
