MAKE-UP: Dark Bold Lips

The fall classic, dark bold lips, were seen across the board this season. At Marchesa there was the full 30s glamour, with a warm metallic eye complementing the berry pout. The most extreme version was seen at Giles, with a completely black glossy mouth paired with a heavily contoured face.

A matte stain was seen at Marc Jacobs, coupled with a cool grey eye. At Phillip Lim models went with completely bare, but sculpted face and a defined terracotta lip.

MAKE-UP: Black Eyeliner

Back liner popped up consistently this season, paired with a natural face for a more up to date look. It was worn in a similar manner, in the waterline and tightline, at both Versace, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Lanvin.

At Louis Vuitton, the lower lashline was emphasised heavily, whilst at Erdem a stronger upper lashline created a rounder, cleaner effect.

MAKE-UP: Flushed Cheeks

Flushed cheeks were a staple of the a/w catwalks this year. A soft tawny flush, worn high up on the cheeks could be found on models at Balmain and Ralph Lauren, whilst a stronger more defined cheek was seen at Michael Kors.

The weather flushed models from Chloé wore a much more natural, pink blush.

MAKE-UP: Graphic Eyes

Ready for the party season, graphic eyes were prevalent on the catwalk. We saw an extended winged liner at Oscar de la Renta, paired with a natural face for a more subtle look. At Chanel the same shape was amplified with a strong black smoked out eye.

Both Dior and Rochas opted for a similar graphic shape, having a rounded liner on the lid up to the browbone.

HAIR: Baby Hairs

Baby hairs in many incarnations were a definite trend this season. At Givenchy fringes were slicked in intricate coils on the face. More sporty, glossy strands escaped high ponytails at
Stella McCartney.

Hair was also up at Vera Wang, with tufts around the face creating a windswept, casual look. Valentino had distinctly wearable and romantic hair, worn down with soft wisps framing the face

HAIR: Blow Out Hair

Sleek and sophisticated was the name of the game, with expensive blowout hair making many appearances. At Donna Karan hair was sleek with a deep side part.

Ralph Lauren and Jason Wu both opted for a voluminous look and at Pucci the blow dry was straight with a strong center parting.

HAIR: Hair Tuck

What has to be the lowest maintenance style from fashion week, the off duty casual of the ‘hair tuck’ was spotted at many shows. At Giambattista Valli hair was tucked under itself to create long faux bobs.

BCBG Max Azria created a windswept effect with hair tucked into oversized collars and scarves.

At John Galliano and Nina Ricci, high shine hair was simply worn loose, gently put behind the ears.

HAIR: Up Do’s

The catwalks were littered with updos this season. At Chanel there were elegant chignons held up with thick satin hairbands.

Prada saw over accessorized ponytails and at Victoria Beckham, hair was slicked in a contemporary bun at the back of the head.
