Mary Katrantzou

Spring-Summer 2015 – The first pieces of Mary Katrantzou’s collection kicked off the show simply, smartly and sexily. The first piece involved a cream geometrically cutout shirt with tailored trousers in a slightly darker shade. As the fashion show continued the pieces deviated away from this initial piece in colour, cut and the adding or removing of pieces. The collection gradually became more sensual, colourful and decorative, with use of sheer material, deep V-neck shirts, and flesh-coloured fabric. Patterns were hyper-real and paradisiacal, incorporating bright colours and different textiles into the collection, setting this collection apart from others at London Fashion Week.

So as to emphasise femininity and prevent the detraction of attention from the pieces, hair was worn loose and wavy, with models wearing minimal makeup. Mary Katrantzou’s designs were accessorised with Mary-Jane and T-Strap shoes in a range of colours.
