Issey Miyake
Spring-Summer 2013 – It was a bright and bubbly collection from Issey Miyake. The clown-like colours were reminiscent of a children’s party with bright blues, greens, yellow and orange coordinating and clashing respectively. A graphic striped print was emblazoned across delicate dresses before dominating midi-dresses. Monochrome interspersed bright hues with nautical and beetle-stripes being particularly prevalent. Though it was more about the print and the palette the silhouette was light, loose and airy – perfect for Spring-Summer and moved away from the dark hues which have dominated here in Paris. Chiffon was a proponent of this, creating the lightest of dresses in shift and square shapes. Three-quarter trousers were paired with breeze easy tops maintaing a loose and carefree shape. It was a fantastic use of prints, patterns and colour for a lighthearted, vibrant and interesting show.
