Spring-Summer 2013 – It was a collection full of character telling a strong story dedicated to the nineties. One only had to reference the exaggerated shoulders along with the triangular proportions to see that. First up, a diamond printed monochrome suit with tapered high waisted trousers and a power jacket to match, this was finished with a lace trim and sculpted waist. The monochrome look was essential throughout creating short dresses with wide and plunging necklines and tighter then tight trousers. Tiny crop tops played an important part too, worn with trousers or as bandeaus under jumpsuits. Leather was pertinent and with the huge silver hoop earrings and structured bomber jackets, there was a gangster overtone. It was a powerful look with padded shoulders on everything. Hard crochet added an interesting touch, created off-the-shoulder dresses and square tops in sparks of yellow. Yellow and black Beetlejuice stripes added another dimension, as did the abundance of denim used to create the same nineties style. It was a fantastic use of prints and tailoring and a standout collection from Paris.
