Sonia Rykiel

Autumn-Winter 2013/14

Great things were always expected of Geraldo Da Conceircao when he became creative director of Sonia Rykiel and his collection this season almost paid homage to all of the iconic designers he has worked for in the past. It wouldn’t be pushing it to say, it was fashion at it’s classic best.

Geraldo drew on Rykiel’s looks from the seventies and eighties and combined that with aesthetics picked up from working with Alber Elbaz, Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford and presented a series of truly covetable designs ranging from knit tunics, slouchy cardigans and jackets lined with bright pink. The collection also had a cheeky and seductive edge brought by suggestively placed patches on dresses and touches of sheer black.

The collection was a perfect combination of the things that have influenced and inspired Geraldo but still with that signature Sonia Rykiel feel.
