Autumn-Winter 2013/14

Lanvin has always been a highly respected house, producing refined and prestigious designs to be admired. This season the much-loved designer Alber Elbaz stepped it up a notch at the reputable label by relaxing things and adding a definite personal touch.

The collection, unusually, was a series of individual looks. If an amateur designer had tried to present this mixture of different looks it might have been a disaster, but under Alber’s expert eye it was a roaring success. The designs felt youthful, there was an intriguing combination of day and night wear in every outfit and a range of glorious, inviting textures.

Alber added an appealing and humorous touch by spelling out his inspirations for the collection on the models, in the form of big necklaces. These necklaces featuring words like cool, help or love changed according to the outfit and helped illustrate Alber’s design process.
