Autumn-Winter 2010/11 – Frida Giannini definitely knows what women want. The polished look for the mature woman came by way of strong Italian looks and a good dose of leather. First up came the winter whites as dresses wrapped around the body. The clean palette was maintained with cream tights, white patent shoes or cream thigh-high boots. Ultra-tight dresses perpetuated the curves creating an elegant silhouette. This elegance was strengthened by crease-front trousers with a boot cut, and big-collared suede coats. White transcended into metallic and grey making for a smart trousers, top and blazer combo. Then, tan suede dresses, camel and bronze showed that there was no end to the sophistication of the Gucci girl. Black lace, feathers and dégradé sequins were smart and sophisticated yet were still Gucci glamorous and perfect for evening wear. The collection has wearability written all over it and there’s no doubting its success.
