Roland Mouret Women Spring Summer 2016

Roland Mouret is known for his iconic dresses that are fitted and emphasise womanly silhouette.  His SS16 collection continues on with this theme, and the collection, which mainly consists of dresses finishing at the mid-calf (the length of Spring Summer 2016), are tailored and designed flatter feminine shape.

One of his designs featured woven paper in white to create a boxy jacket structure that was open at the middle and attached by pieces of fabric, revealing the chest and sternum underneath – many of his designs followed suit with this, and included some form of cutaway at the upper body, giving a sense of cheekiness to some of his otherwise more conservative dresses.  Mouret had his models made up with soft make up to accentuate their eyes and lips, and their hair fell in loose waves.  A black and grey graphic flower print adorned silk dresses, and heeled mules were created out of woven orange leather.  Mouret’s smart tailoring has earnt him credentials and allowed him to become a household name, as his smart and sophisticated designs appeal to a wide range of women.
