Philipp Plein

Philipp Plein Woman Autumn-Winter 2016 – A series of leather panelled garments, ranging from jumpsuits to micro skirts set the mood for a sci-fi collection.

Aside from the Aeon Flux inspired zip-up catsuits and hairstyles, Phillip Plein showcased a gothic mood intertwined with street-style and hip-hop vibes. The use of skin tight leather emulated Alien skin, especially when backed up by exaggerated rigid shoulders. Skilled pattern cutting made way, for skeletal shapes of long gowns.

Vampiric silhouettes were decorated with gold jacquards, fishnet tights were paired with micro dresses and sneakers for rave inspired attire. Decadent onesies were repeated and snuggled beneath fur hooded parkas, before being finished off with the season’s favourite beanie accessory.

Swathes of leather were deconstructed and meshed with delicate lace, for a romantic heroin chic feel, whilst an influx of fur dominated later looks. Flared pantsuits made a resurgence, with ornate detailing on the necklines.

The black tones were immediately inserted with a luxurious quality thanks to the hardware details of spikes and studs. The cut out panelling had a mosaic effect when the material became reflective; there was one spectacular gold outfit in particular which appeared as an homage to Ziggy Stardust.
