Missoni Women Spring Summer 2016

Stripes, stripes and more stripes have been the key pattern this season, and Missoni gave an especially sporty spin to them. Long, slender knits and thin, flowing sweaters were worn over strappy sandals and printed converse. V-neck wrap dresses printed with incongruous zig-zags, seen again in loose pants and long t-shirts. Lovely sheer and metallic pleating make up a skirt and tent dresses for an ethereal effect.

Demure animal print bikinis make their way between oversized knit polos, and long straight dresses in abstract patterns. Cropped tank tops paired with high cut shorts under long knit cardigans give a beachy theme, while the same high waisted shorts add modesty to transparent dresses.

Beaded necklaces and round-collared necklines bring to mind the African tribal inspiration Angela Missoni worked from for this collection while brightly painted eyelids bring attention to otherwise unadorned faces. The printed converse with socks give an especially laid back feel to each look. This theme is visible in the colors and vibrant stripes intermingled with more abstract patterns. Both sporty and tribal, this collection is all at once relaxed and luxurious.
