Spring/Summer 2014 – Dolce and Gabbana’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection is one of the most eye-catching I have seen so far. The main part of the collection was the prints. These prints cover almost every garment and are so realistic that they almost look like photographs. The scenes they depict meet up exactly at the centre fronts of jackets giving a feeling of continuity. The most interesting thing however is the inspiration the prints are taken from; they range from everything from roman coliseums to emperors and mosaic patterns (which we would expect from the Italian duo) to cherry blossoms and trees. The muted colour palettes work very well, especially with every other outfit being either plain white, plain black or a contrasting vivid colour. The garments them selves range from the very formal three piece suit to shorts and sports jackets, quite ordainary clothes but with a very Dolce and Gabbana twist.
