Haider Ackermann

Autumn-Winter 2014/15 – An interesting line appeared on the runway for Haider Ackermann this winter season. There is a dramatic over load of layers and layers of clothes.

Starting with the basic shape, more items are added; the oversized outwear are then adapted and cinched in at the waist to create shape.

Think indie stars mixed with a slight ‘hobo’ edge. The subtle tones of greys, beige and blues highlight the gentlemanly side of the alternative yet classy theme.

Thick blends accentuate the small yet highlighted details of the patterns on the jackets and the trousers. A contrasting print on a light but large shawl compliments the colours and is doubled up in a messy yet productive way, which concludes the shabby chic look.

Considering the outfit is fairly basic in terms of colours, styles and lengths, there is a lot going on. Whoever said basic is boring needs to get out.
