Loewe Women Spring Summer 2016

Jonathan Anderson’s collection for Loewe SS16 saw a series of garments designed with his kooky girl twist: Loosely tailored black suits were embellished with metal discs and adorned with a bird motif, which ran throughout the show; mid-calf length dresses and trousers were fastened with fragments of broken mirror; Black and silver dyed snakeskin trousers; dangling earrings worn in just one ear.

An oriental theme was also present with black and white silk garments finished with intricate lotus flower designs.  The sheer trend is everywhere for SS16, and in his typical style, Anderson gives this a twist with his inclusion of clear plastic maxi skirts layered underneath cashmere sweaters and jackets – this trend is for the bold!  Anderson’s eclectic collection for Loewe remains slightly avant garde but wearable, and his work with leather must also be given credit to.  Excellent.
