JW Anderson

JW Anderson Woman Autumn-Winter 2016 – J.W. Anderson’s London Fashion Week A/W 16-17 collection stayed true to the playful designs he is famous for creating.

A party vibe was invoked by high waisted mini-skirts with peplum hems in the Jamaican flag colours of green, yellow and black paired with silk shirts that had over-sized hanging pockets. Proportions were played with on a large white silk coat given form by an equally large fitted sequinned belt that loosely resembled the medals that champion boxer’s wear around their waists. The monk houses in the Far East may have been the inspiration for very structured long sleeved tops paired with pleated skirts that resembled petals. J.W. Anderson highlighted the beauty in simplicity by featuring a floor length, long-sleeved buttoned dress with a fantastic large belt that emphasised the models waist. This was a collection that thrilled in more ways than one.

The show was attended by Anna Wintour, Alexa Chung and Filipino fashion blogger Bryan Boy amongst others.
