Erdem Women Spring Summer 2016 – Life just got a little more fashionable at home on the range. The atmosphere at Erdems show was dark and ominous, held in a London theatre, the designer was clearly putting on a real show.

Then the prairie girls entered, all high necklines and Victoriana dresses, creeping flowers embroidered on the garments. Makeup artist Val Garland created a “dishevelled, nicotine stained eye” which gave the girls a haunted look for the ‘Prairie Madness’ collection.

Dresses created with ruffles and tiers were always feminine and featured the beautiful floral prints the brand is famed for. Sheer panels and cut out shoulders added variation to the classic shapes and kept things fresh. Combinations of interesting colours occurred in lilac with bright yellow and pale blue with red. Gowns made with layers of silk organza and tiny buttons along the seams created 3D form whilst still keeping traditional aspects such as the black ribbons worn around the neck.

Who know Little House on the Prairie chic would be a trend for spring?
