Ann Demeulemeester

Ann Demeulemeester Man Spring-Summer 2017 – Ann Demeulemeester was the name on everyone’s lips after Sébastien Meunier’s captivating Parisian Spring/Summer 2017 collection for the fashion house. The models marched down the run-way in a muted colour palate dominated by monochrome shades, such as jet blacks, charcoal greys and crisp whites. Such shades contrasted perfectly with the flashes of vibrant scarletts and lively maroons, which were ever present throughout many of the looks. In terms of accessorising and embellishing, ribbons, feathers and beads all took their place in this collection adorning the soft, abstract outfits beautifully. There was an undoubtable theme of gothic romance throughout, with romantic ruffled sleeves contrasting with thicker, studded hard- wear, such as the various leather belts. Meunier, who took charge of the Ann Demeulemeester brand in 2014, manages to add his own signature edginess to the collection, yet remains true to the original founder by incorporating her own marked style throughout. Overall, an exciting and original collection that definitely did not disappoint.
