Roberto Cavalli designs for C&A Brazil

Roberto Cavalli was in Sao Paulo Tuesday to personally present the ‘Roberto Cavalli for C&A Brazil’ collection in Brazil’s largest city, and was excited to be in “such a lively and exuberant country.”

The fun-loving 72-year-old was apparently inspired by the party spirit of the country for his daywear looks, eveningwear, shoes and accessories: “when I began thinking about this collection, I imagined a fantastic party where all women were dressed in glamorous and sensual clothes,” he explained.

As usual there are plenty of shimmering embellishments and animal print motifs, reflecting something deep in “the DNA of my brand” according to Cavalli. “My inspirations always come from nature’s most amazing wonders… the fantasies, the colors and the joy!” he added. The Russian model Irina Shayk was shot by photographer Giampaolo Sgura for the sunny, seaside campaign images.

Cavalli has previously produced capsule collaborations with American retailer Target, and Swedish fast fashion giant H&M. Last month the designer also unveiled a selection of Just Cavalli mobile phone accessories produced by Italian company Puro.

According to the brand, the capsule collection will be an exclusive for the Brazilian market, available at C&A stores in the country.
