Schiaparelli sophomore

Second albums come with a lot of pressure, and Marco Zanini will be feeling it. Stéphanie Coudert returns

The French designer hasn’t shown her couture collections on the Paris runway since 2004, instead choosing to work for private clients from her own atelier in the city’s Belleville district. Now after a decade out of the spotlight, Stéphanie Coudert will be returning to the catwalk on the opening day with a collection of medieval-inspired daywear evoking Eleanor of Aquitaine.

Hussein Chalayan & Vionnet

Vionnet Chairman and Creative Director Goga Ashkenazi hired Chalayan to create a new line of one-off pieces for the house: “Chalayan is one of the most creative and provocative designers working in fashion today,” explained Ashkenazi. “I have always been intrigued by his conceptual approach and the fearless way his work travels outside the traditional confines of fashion.” Not a full haute couture collection, but a ‘demi-couture’ line from the British Turkish-Cypriot designer, it’s nonetheless destined to make headlines this week.
