Olga Kurylenko to wear sustainable dress for the Oscars

On March 2, Ukrainian-French actress and Bond Girl Ogla Kurylenko will hit the red carpet in Los Angeles wearing a sustainable creation by Alice Elia, a French-Lebanese student at the ESMOD fashion school in Paris.

“What a privilege it will be to wear Alice’s gorgeous design on the red carpet for the campaign’s fifth year, which is such a milestone for Suzy and everyone involved,” says Kurylenko. “It’s a great honor to have been asked.”

The initiative was founded by Suzy Amis Cameron, wife of director James Cameron, who thought up the idea when she was on the red carpet tour for “Avatar.” The competition challenges designers from around the world to create a gown constructed entirely from sustainable materials. Funds raised from the contest go towards scholarships for the MUSE School in California, and the Global MUSE educational project.

PETA and Beyond Skin have also collaborated on Kurylenko’s limited edition vegan shoes, which are made from fake suede with a metallic trim in Dinamica (an Italian product produced from recycled bottle tops). You’ll be able to get your hands on your own copies of the shoes online via Beyond Skin from Monday, with a portion of proceeds going to the MUSE school. Last year fellow Bond Girl Naomie Harris wore a Red Carpet Green Dress to the awards.
