New Thom Browne line to have more classic aesthetic

Titled ‘Thom Browne’, and not to be confused with his ‘Thom Browne New York’ main line, the new collection is based around the classic gray suit, one of the staples of the brand since Browne first emerged onto the menswear scene midway through the last decade.

Initially known for his stark shapes and color palette, short cut jackets and ankle flashing pants, Browne has moved into more colorful and experimental territory with his runway menswear, and has added womenswear in the process.

The new Thom Browne collection is a more classic look at a traditional men’s suiting, with a “slightly less extreme” aesthetic than the runway line, the designer told WWD. But less extreme doesn’t mean any less luxe: prices will start at $2,200 for the suiting ($2,800 for the coats), while the shirts will sell for $350 and upwards.

“It will be a well-fitting, good-looking suit that doesn’t push too far, but it doesn’t push too little either,” he added. “I can’t imagine any guy who doesn’t want to look like that.”
