Milan Fashion Week: highlights from days 2 and 3

Prada

Miuccia Prada’s Fall 2014/15 collection mixed the soft and sexy (sheer shift dresses) with a wintry 1970s vibe (best exemplified by the shearling coats, which came in a range of tones and colors). The designer was bang on-trend with her pre-war Modernist prints and also added some great wool pieces which referenced the felt-lined show space.

Moschino

Jeremy Scott’s debut runway collection for the famously provocative Italian brand didn’t fail to disappoint. McDonalds, Coco Chanel, SpongeBob SquarePants, Budweiser beer and Hershey’s Chocolate were all drawn into the kitsch mix which is sure to have street-style photographers a-snapping as soon as it hits editors’ wardrobes.

Blumarine

Anna Molinari’s 1970s party girls wore plenty of embroidered silk (clever gold flowers were made to look like dribbled paint), shaggy fur coats, pleated metallic dresses, jumpsuits, and sheer lace. The plunging necklines had an almost costumey air (think Amy Adams in ‘American Hustle’).
