Lucien Pellat-Finet honors Basquiat with new capsule collection

With this new line of sweaters and sweatshirts, Lucien Pellat-Finet pays homage to one of the most influential artists of the late 20th century. The Haitian American artist, who died 27 years ago, is known for his paintings, drawings and graffiti.

The design house teamed up with Basquiat’s estate to bring some of the artist’s distinctive drawings to a collection of items for both women and men, in cashmere for the most part. The motifs featured include Basquiat’s signature skulls and dinosaurs, as well as images from his collaboration with Andy Warhol.

Lucien Pellat-Finet opted for a bright color palette with this new line, which includes sweaters in purple, orange and sea green as well as black.

The Fall-Winter 2014-2015 collection goes on sale from this July in Lucien Pellat-Finet stores.
