Kate Moss back at Topshop

It was one of fashion’s best-loved collaborations: the world famous model and the high street brand launched their first collection bearing the Kate Moss name back in May 2007 in a partnership which ran until November 2010.

Now Topshop has announced that Moss is hard at work helping to design a Spring/Summer 2014 collection. According to the model the timing was perfect:

“I have really missed being involved in the design process, and working with the team at Topshop,” said Moss. “Now more than ever with London being at the forefront of fashion as it feels like I’m back home working with Topshop,” she added.

The clothes will hit stores and online in April next year and Topshop boss Sir Philip Green was excited by the deal, which was reportedly sketched out while the model and the mogul spent time together on holiday. “I am personally thrilled that Kate wanted to come back to Topshop to work with us again. The first time around was such a lot of fun and she has been sorely missed,” he explained.

This time around international shoppers will also be able to get a slice of the action, something Green puts down to the brand’s increased global presence: “the Topshop business has developed extensively around the globe since we launched with Kate in 2007, and it’s our intention to launch and sell this collection in all 40 countries worldwide where Topshop has a presence, in addition to creating pop-ups in department stores around the globe.”

Both parties have been busy over the last three years. After her first design collaborations with Topshop, Moss went on to launch a line of mobile phone accessories with the Carphone Warehouse, while Topshop worked with young designers including JW Anderson and Mary Katrantzou on capsule collections.

Renowned stylist — and friend of the model — Katy England will be attached to the project, working with the brand ahead of the global launch in the spring.
