Dress for Success is a non-profit which helps provide disadvantaged women with professional clothes as well as a support network of business advice and career development tools.

Over 20 of America’s biggest designers were involved including Calvin Klein’s Francisco Costa, Marc Jacobs, Narciso Rodriguez, Zac Posen, and Rodarte. New York City-based Suno also teamed up with Swarovski to create a crystal-embellished piece.

Vintage Vanguard co-creator Liz Goldwyn has been involved with Dress for Success since she was 19: “I saw first-hand how Dress for Success empowers women to gain professional and financial control over their lives,” she explained. “As someone who feels empowered by clothing in my professional life, I want to encourage other women to get to know and support Dress for Success.”

Goldwyn worked with the flame-haired British fashion model Karen Elson on the Vintage Vanguard concept, a project which brings together the pair’s passion for vintage clothing and their connections to the top talent in the design industry.

The Vintage Vanguard pieces have now launched on Moda Operandi. Any items which aren’t snapped up online will go on silent auction in New York at a private charity cocktail event hosted by Liz, Karen and Vogue magazine’s Tonne Goodman on January 13.
