Fashion films of the week: Calvin Klein, Lane Crawford, Reed Krakoff

Calvin Klein

Surface textures, mirrors, fire and water move in this moody video for Calvin Klein’s Provocations Campaign. Finnish model Suvi Koponen stars alongside Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård in the ten-minute clip, directed by Fabien Baron. The film is soundtracked by “Og Lengra” composed by Olafur Arnalds. Skarsgård, 36, has been the face of Calvin Klein‘s men’s fragrance Encounter since June 2012.

Lane Crawford

Director Nick Knight worked with Chinese model Ming Xi and stylist Katy England on this punchy new film for Lane Crawford. For the brand’s S/S 2013 campaign, Knight pushed motion capture technology to the limit and created a fashion film and images without the use of photography. The minute-long clip sees motion-captured data from Ming Xi stitched together with looks from Givenchy, Proenza Schouler, McQueen and Haider Ackermann.

Reed Krakoff

Art directed by Ray Ferraro and with creative direction provided by Krakoff, French beauty Laetitia Casta moves seductively to the sound of “Sunporch” by Walls. The 45-second film’s images are square like an old camera (or a newer instagram), and different shots overlap and overlay in black and white and fiery orange.
