Debut collection from Stuart Vevers at Coach seen on Lexi Boling in Fall-Winter 2014 campaign

Shot by legendary fashion photographer Steven Meisel, Coach showed off the debut collection from 40-year-old Yorkshire-born designer Stuart Vevers in the campaign, the first women’s ready-to-wear line for the brand, which was revealed during New York fashion week in February this year.

“There’s a sense of freedom mixed with a touch of nostalgia in the images that are layered in a modern and distinctive way,” explained Vevers. “The combination feels fresh and confidently expresses our new vision.”

The images feature two of the biggest emerging modeling talents in the US: Lexi Boling and Binx Walton who appear alongside Vanessa Mood, Harleth Kuusik, Gracie Van Gastel, Issa Lish and David Alexander Flinn. Holding the brand’s famous bags, the models are also juxtaposed with shots taken from Joel Sternfeld’s ‘Landscape with Path’ series from 2000-2001.

Art Director Fabien Baron added, “Coach is a wonderful brand with such an authentic, rich heritage. It’s a pleasure to work with a team as visionary as Stuart and Victor, to create something that captures a pure vision of America, that’s so relevant around the world yet feels very modern, youthful and personal.”

Vevers was poached from Spanish luxury brand Loewe (currently undergoing its own rejuvenation under fellow Brit Jonathan Anderson) last year. He pulled together the campaign with art direction by Fabien Baron, styling by Karl Templer, make-up by Pat McGrath and hair by Guido Palau.
