Cheap Monday launch world’s fastest ever pop-up

Posted on

Cheap Monday is turning ten and the brand has become a little fixated on the number! At 10am on October 10 (yes, 10/10) the brand will launch ten-minute long pop-ups in ten cities around the world, and gifting 10,000 pairs of jeans to fans of the label.

The jeans will be given away in exchange for social currency (from liking the brand’s Facebook page to hashtagging #CheapMonday on instagram and twitter), but the shops will only be there for ten minutes (we’re picturing Alexander Wang-style havoc).

There’s already a mini-site where from now until September 27, you can vote for the winning cities from a list of 25 candidates (the top ten will be announced one week ahead of the event).

So go and post your ballot (digitally of course) if you want to be in with a chance of some free denim in one of the following locations: Amsterdam, Antwerp, Austin, Barcelona, Beijing, Berlin, Birmingham, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Hong Kong, L.A., Lisbon, London, Madrid, Malmoe, Manchester, Melbourne, Milan, New York, Paris, Rome, Seoul, Shanghai, Stockholm, and Sydney.

The social currency concept has been increasingly embraced by the fashion and beauty industry, with Marc Jacobs earlier this year launching a number of ‘Tweet Shops’ which swapped Twitter and Instagram mentions (using a #MJDaisyChain hashtag) for Marc Jacobs goodies.
