Caroline de Maigret for Madewell
Shot in and around her apartment in the 9th arrondissement of the French capital, 38-year old Caroline de Maigret looks every inch the fashion star in the latest collection from Madewell.
A model, music producer, blogger and member of one of France’s oldest aristocratic and political families, Maigret has been the face of a number of major brands over the years including Pantene and Garnier.
In an interview posted on the Madewell blog she described her style choices as generally subconscious: “a lot of it comes from what my mother taught me: to seek out a nice cut and a quality fabric. It’s in our roots not to show off or be too ostentatious, but rather to understand the classic beauty in the understated.”
Caroline de Maigret also recently appeared alongside fellow high fashion veteran Christy Turlington in the Autumn-Winter 2013 campaign for Prada, part of a wider trend for re-emerging vintage fashion icons, which has also seen Kristen McMenamy star in the latest Balenciaga ads for Alexander Wang, and 58-year-old former Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld shot for Givenchy.
Madewell is part of the J. Crew family with 27 stores in the United States. British TV host and style icon Alexa Chung previously represented Madewell, also designing a number of capsule collections for the brand.
