Behati Prinsloo creates denim line with THVM

Hip Los Angeles-based denim brand THVM has signed a deal with Namibian model Behati Prinsloo for a 16-piece collection which will include t-shirts, leggings and outerwear alongside the jeans. Prinsloo got to work alongside the label’s creative directors Brian Kim and Olga Nazarova, helping to pick out colors, shapes and fabrics for the collection.

“It’s been incredibly rewarding to be on the other side of fashion for a change,” the 24-year-old Prinsloo explained to WWD. “Instead of simply giving character to clothing in images, I’ve been involved in the creation of this line from the beginning. I feel that the collection is intrinsically representative of my own personal style: effortless, versatile, simple, and most importantly laid back.”

Wholesale prices for the Spring 2014 collection range from $48 to $210 (expect retail prices approximately 2-3 time more) and will be available at THVM stockists around the globe (the brand is currently sold in multibrand stores in the US, Canada, France, Italy, Japan, Hong Kong and Australia, as well as online).

Prinsloo is the latest in a series of models to launch denim lines. Earlier this year Karlie Kloss launched a capsule collection with Frame Denim of specially cut jeans for tall girls, while Freja Beha Erichsen’s collection with denim label Mother launched on September 16.
