ANDAM Prize 2013 awarded

Young French designer Alexandre Mattiussi has triumphed at this year’s ANDAM prizes, winning the prestigious fashion award for his popular line of Parisian menswear. 

The designer will now be stocked in Canadian store Hudson’s Bay, and recieves a cash prize of €250,000. More importantly, Mattiussi will also be taken under the wing of Diesel and Only The Brave boss Renzo Rosso, who will be providing two years of business mentorship. 

Rosso was one of a number of big names on the judging panel, which also included Vogue Paris editor Emmanuelle Alt, YSL co-founder Pierre Bergé and Opening Ceremony’s Humberto Leon. 

Another winner was Christine Phung, who picked up the First Collections Award, which sees the young designer take home €75,000 and a spot at famous Parisian department store Galeries Lafayette.

Established in 1989, previous ANDAM winners include Martin Margiela, Gareth Pugh, Hermès designer Christophe Lemaire, and Viktor & Rolf.
