London Collections: Men, an initiative established in 2011 by the British Fashion Council to rethink the way that men’s fashion is shown on the capital’s catwalks, has pulled off a coup with over 50 menswear designers booked to show in London in January 2013.

New among the line-up is fashion megastar Tom Ford, alongside the Sarah Burton-led Alexander McQueen label. British stalwart Hardy Amies has also decided to return to the UK, defecting from the brand’s previous show location in Milan. The January 7-9 event will also see global names Belstaff and Burberry host breakfast presentations of their new lines.

With its world-famous Central St Martins design school, and history of edgy streetwear, London has recently grown in reputation as a hotbed for forward-thinking fashion talent from around the world. Christopher Kane, Jonathan Saunders, Meadham Kirchhoff and Richard Nicoll will all show men’s collections. Up-and-coming talents Christopher Shannon, J.W. Anderson and Lou Dalton, who are among this season’s ‘Fashion Forward’ winners backed by the Mayor of London, and sponsored by eBay will also show.
