Net

Net fabric is an open-mesh fabric. It is manufactured by weaving, twisting, knotting or knitting the warp and the weft yarns together to form a grid-like geometric fabric made up of regular sized diamond, square or hexagonal holes. Net can be made in various weights and mesh sizes. It is typically made from synthetic fibres, but can sometimes be made from cotton. Net is commonly used for evening wear, underskirts, in millinery, veils and other garments which require structure. This fabric can also be used as a base for embroidery and lacemaking. It can be gathered, pleated and layered to create interesting shapes in dressmaking.
