Peter Pilotto

Peter Pilotto Woman Spring Summer 2017 – With a show headline of ‘Tropical Baroque’ it would suggest that Christopher de Vos and Peter Pilotto designed a collection fit for summer dreams. As the title suggested the collection was a summer heaven.

The models wore a styles which presented the Tropical ideal through outfits and prints of grandeur. The overall collection was effortless but sophisticated and desirable. Dresses were long, of varying lengths, and skirts were layered and loose fitting, showing a flowing silhouette.

Grandeur and refinement was presented through the floral compositions. Flowers bloomed in bright reds, yellows and blues in a variety of prints on darker backgrounds such as khaki and dark blue. This floral theme represented classical elegance, with long gowns decorated with gold fabrics, golden and floral bras and childlike, intricate tropical illustrations.

From Pilotto’s designs there is also an expectation of modernity. These new fashion perspectives were represented in cropped denim appliqued with tropical embroidery, gingham off the shoulder crops and mini dresses. To complete the modern appeal was an addition of macramé knitted in bright colours of blues, purples and pinks, added to designs at the hem and as a chunky neckpiece.

Make up was dewy and hair was simple, pulled back over shoulders. The footwear looked to be ornate slippers, light and perfect for a tropical stroll.
