Loewe Woman Autumn-Winter 2016 – Set to a hypnotic score designed to help in the giving up of smoking, ladylike glamour provided a sophisticated and elegance display at Loewe’s autumn/winter 2016 collection.

Long handkerchief hemlines were staples of the majority of pieces, cut to reveal a hint of lower leg and provide plenty of free spirited movement. The choice of block colours, mainly light brown, black and white let focus fall on the knife-pleated skirts’ exquisite cuts, with a elegant feminine silhouette ensured by the frequent use of tan or black belts secured at the waist.

The strength of the collection however was in the details. Orangey-brown laser-cut breast plates and a matching belt modernised the glamour of a LBD at the beginning of the collection as did metallic bodices worn over shaggy knitwear, whilst the delicate chainmail of some designs found the perfect balance between feminine strength and elaborate beauty.

Accessories played a huge role in the collection too. Bags, as the brand is also known for, consistently completed the looks, with a selection of leather styles clasped in the models’ hands hanging half open as if quickly grabbing whilst rushing out the door.

The large white cat head necklaces on simple, narrow brown strings were also a particular highlight. There was a sense of Egyptian worshipping to the design which, teamed with the black beaded necklaces and belts threaded through the white shirt dresses they adorned, highlighted a focus on the elevation of simple but well-tailored clothing by well placed details.
