Spring-Summer 2013 – In stark contrast to Bottega Veneta’s earlier vintage collection, Fendi looked to the future with a contemporary show consisting of boxy shapes with a postmodern tone. To achieve this meant luxe fabrics composed of fur and feather creating a synthetic aesthetic. Clutch bags in the shape of squares and block shaped heels with striped ridged inserts also replicated the modernist tone. The silhouette, brought in at the waist, was made up of multiple layered lengths with panelled jackets, skirts and dresses. The mixture of stripes and block shapes colours, along with the build of the clothes was very architectural. Oversized coats featured bell shaped sleeves to wear with wide leather shorts and honeycomb-embossed bomber jackets worked well with simple shifts pertaining to the overarching Cubism. The finale dresses were a foray of ultra-sparkling and heavy sequined dresses, beautiful, whilst capturing the Futuristic tone.
