Spring-Summer 2013 – The loose, soft, flowing, and wavy hair of the models is perhaps the best way of describing the overall show. It was a relaxed, laid back, and carefree collection and the girls were in no rush to get to the other side of the catwalk. Hips hung low as there was little emphasis on the waist creating a slouchy silhouette. Prime example was the mushroom brown dress worn with a baggy shirt for that all important nonchalant look. To achieve this, silks and satins were the cloth of choice. It is important to note the discrete use of gold, silver and purple hues which, again, acknowledges that metallics will greatly impact next spring-summer. These metallics were youthful, focusing on playful colours. Even so, the collection was directed towards the quintessential Emporio Armani lady; poised and polished. It’s fitting that the collection should be called “neat.”
