Max Mara

Max Mara Woman Autumn-Winter 2016 – Max Mara this season was all about the pins, whether by elongating them in pinstriped wide trousers of unabashedly showing them off in fishnet tights.

The Max Mara women seemed to be emerging from different movie roles, from film noirs in smoky suits, femme fatales in all blacks or channelling the role of a leading man. Needless the collection remained firmly rooted in femininity, a powerful version of it with the signature camel of the brand mixing with shimmers of brass and sequins, to create upbeat yet sultry looks.

Dark lips coupled with leather gloves of varying shades contributed to a lounge feel, whilst colour blocked lace ups and thick alpaca furs diverted the collection from a sombre directions. Mara seemed to communicate a division on to layer or not to layer through the signature longline outerwear –in heavyweight vinyl and wools- or bare all through micro playsuits and rompers.

Although suggestions of nostalgia lingered in the air, primary coloured stripes reminiscent of Mondrian signalled its advancement into modernity.
